NEW RICHMOND, WI – August 14, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –
Bakke Norman has announced the addition of attorney Andrew Hillis to its legal team. Hillis joins the firm with a focus on business transitions and municipal law, strengthening the firm’s capacity to assist clients navigating ownership changes and local government matters across Northwest Wisconsin. The announcement was shared on July 30, 2026.
Hillis is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. Prior to law school, he worked as a paralegal, gaining early exposure to legal processes and client service. His practice centers on helping business owners manage transitions such as sales, successions, and reorganizations, while also providing counsel to municipalities on governance and related issues.
Business transitions often represent significant milestones for owners and families. These matters require careful attention to contracts, tax implications, succession planning, and regulatory compliance. Hillis’s background positions him to support clients through these processes with practical guidance. In the municipal arena, his work will address the legal needs of local governments as communities continue to grow and evolve.
“Business transitions often represent some of the most important moments in a client’s life,” said Andrew Hillis, attorney at Bakke Norman. “I am excited to help business owners confidently navigate those milestones while also serving local governments in ways that strengthen our communities. Joining this team is an incredible opportunity, and I am eager to get started.”
Bakke Norman’s existing practice areas include civil litigation, business transactions, debtor-creditor relations, personal injury, criminal defense, employment law, municipal law, tax law, estate planning, and probate. The addition of Hillis expands the firm’s depth in business transactions and municipal representation, allowing for more comprehensive support for both private clients and public entities.
The firm was founded in 1985 by Gary Bakke, George Norman, and Tom Schumacher. It began in a small office in the historic New Richmond Heritage Center and has grown to include locations in New Richmond, Baldwin, Menomonie, and Eau Claire. This multi-office structure enables attorneys to serve clients throughout Northwest Wisconsin with accessible, regionally informed counsel.
Attorneys at Bakke Norman regularly collaborate across practice areas to address interconnected legal needs. A business transition may involve real estate, employment, tax, and estate planning considerations. Municipal work often intersects with employment, land use, and compliance matters. The firm’s team approach helps clients receive coordinated advice.
“As our clients’ businesses and communities continue to grow and evolve, so does our firm,” said Blake Fischer, another Business Transactions attorney at Bakke Norman. “Andrew Hillis brings valuable experience in business transitions and municipal law that will enhance the practical, forward-thinking counsel we provide.”
Hillis joins a team that includes attorneys experienced in farming law, succession planning, real estate, banking, and litigation. The firm has been recognized as one of the Best Law Firms in America by U.S. News & World Report and maintains a commitment to professional standards in serving individuals, businesses, and municipalities.
Client feedback on the firm’s website frequently notes the competence, responsiveness, and down-to-earth approach of the attorneys and staff. Reviews highlight thorough representation in employment disputes, personal injury matters, and other cases, as well as timely communication.
With the addition of Andrew Hillis, Bakke Norman continues its longstanding effort to match legal resources to the evolving needs of Northwest Wisconsin. The firm remains focused on delivering clear, effective legal services grounded in regional knowledge and collaborative practice.
